What song should I sing for a High School Musical audition?

My local theatre is doing High School Musical! http://pytnet.org/audition.html What song should I sing, since it can only be a minute long. What part of the song? And what am I going to need to know for the monologue? To be honest with you, I don't even know what that means! Please and thanks.

1. It depends on several factors. 1) If you are singing a song from the actual show, then pick a song from one of the roles you want. 2) If you know what vocal part you sing, pick a song corresponding to your vocal range. You should probably sing something as close to the chorus as you can, because that's the easiest part to remember (for me, anyway). A monologue is a short paragraph-like thing that an actor says during the show. It's pretty much inner thoughts out loud. Your theatre teacher should provide a monologue for you, if not, Google is your best friend. Hope that helps!
